Jeffrey Donovan portrays Charlie Haverford in Shut Eye. He most recently starred as Dodd Gerhardt in the second season of the Golden Globe-nominated FX series Fargo. Earlier last year, Jeffrey was seen in Denis Villeneuve’s feature Sicario alongside Josh Brolin, Emily Blunt, and Benicio Del Toro.
Late last year, Jeffrey filmed the Rob Reiner–directed feature LBJ, where he plays John F. Kennedy alongside Woody Harrelson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Richard Jenkins. Last year he also shot the feature film Shot Caller, directed by Ric Roman Waugh.
Jeffrey played the lead of Michael Westen for seven seasons on the hit USA series Burn Notice. He also played the lead alongside Matthew Fox in Miguel Angel Vivas’s recently released feature Extinction. Previous feature credits include Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and The Changeling opposite Angelina Jolie, as well as Come Early Morning opposite Ashley Judd and Hitch opposite Will Smith. Donovan began his career on the stage working with esteemed directors Michael Mayer and Philip Seymour Hoffman, among others.
Jeffrey and his wife, Michelle, led the funding for the Family Reach Foundation in Colorado. Its mission: helping the Denver Children’s Hospital of Colorado bridge the gap for poor income families and the high cost of medical treatment for children with cancer.
Jeffrey also founded The Jeffrey Donovan Scholarship for the Arts, to which he has personally donated $100,000 for the Amesbury High School arts program over the last 10 years.
